Take a look out my window

Very little pollution in Beijing on a good day:

The likes of this hasn't been seen since the Olympics two years ago, although sometimes it's close just after it rains

But then there are the bad days, like Friday.  Visibility is about 1/4 mile and it looks like a thick cloud has descended upon the city:

My roommate and I judge the air quality by the number of tall buildings we can see.  Today is a zero tower day.  The first picture is a three tower day.

  2. That is one thing I do not miss about Beijing. The beautiful days are wonderful but too few and far between.

  3. Do you find it difficult to breathe when the pollution is high?

    • Sometimes. My allergies give me headaches, and that’s probably pollution-related.
